Islands Bikes and Boards original store on Willmington Island was opened in 2007 by James Barr a Wilmington Island native. After the opening of the Wilmington Island store, James realized that there was a growing need in the mainland Savannah area for an honest bicycle shop with the relaxed and comfortable feel of the islands, in the midst of the chaos of city life. This store was opened in downtown Savannah in March of 2008.

Our well rounded staff has been derived from a core of fully trained bicycle enthusiasts and mechanics. We endeavor to create a relaxed, friendly, small-town atmosphere in both stores, while providing quick, prompt and efficient care for our customers, as well as very competitive pricing.

Understanding that sometimes four wheels is a better way to get around than two, we have expanded our product line to include skateboards and multiwheel bikes. Long boards, shredders, custom trucks and accessories are all part of our latest inventory.
